Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 August 2026
dagzo ("we") respects the privacy of the users of the Android application "Ouchi Museum" (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in the App.
1. Information we collect
The App does not collect any personal information.
Everything the App handles is stored only on the user's device. Nothing is transmitted to an external server, and we never obtain the user's data.
The data the App handles on the device is as follows.
1.1 Data entered by the user
- Images of the works (drawings by the child, taken with the camera or chosen from the album)
- Information about a work (title, date made, frame style, the child's own words)
- Information about an artist, the child (name, birthday, photo)
The name and birthday are used to show the age at the time of the work on the wall label, such as "6 yrs 1 mo". This calculation happens on the device.
1.2 What the App stores on the device
- Image files of the works (in the App's own storage area)
- The database of the above (Hive, on the device)
- Images generated for sharing (temporary files)
2. Device permissions and services
| Permission / service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Launching the camera | To photograph a work, the App opens the device camera app or a Google Play services activity. The App itself does not declare the camera permission |
| Storage (Android 9 and below) | To save a work you have added to the device's album. Not required on Android 10 and above |
| Internet / network state | Declared by Google Play services (ML Kit). Used to obtain the module that finds the edges of the paper |
Choosing an image from the album uses the Android photo picker, so no photo access permission is required. Only the image you pick is read.
3. Automatic cropping (finding the edges of the paper)
Cropping and perspective correction on capture use ML Kit, part of Google Play services.
- The image is analysed on the device. Images of the works are never transmitted.
- Google Play services may communicate in order to obtain that module, for example the first time it is used.
- Information handled by Google Play services is subject to Google's privacy policy.
4. Data storage
- All data is stored only on the user's device.
- Images of the works are stored in the App's own storage area.
- When a work is added, the same image is also saved to the device's album (media store). It remains there even if the App is deleted.
- Information about works and artists is stored in a local database (Hive).
5. Data sharing
The App does not transmit data to external servers. However, when the user takes the following action, data may be shared with another app through the operating system.
- Sharing the image of a framed work with another app, such as a messaging app
This happens only when the user explicitly asks for it; data is never shared automatically. Information handled by the receiving app is subject to that app provider's policy.
6. Deleting data
- Removing a work from the collection deletes its image and data from the device.
- Deleting an artist deletes that name, birthday and photo from the device.
- Uninstalling the App deletes everything the App has stored on the device.
- Images saved to the device's album when a work was added are not removed by uninstalling. Delete them from the album.
7. Third party services
The App does not use any third party service that collects data, such as analytics or advertising networks.
It uses ML Kit from Google Play services for automatic cropping, which, as described above, analyses images on the device.
8. Children's privacy
The App is intended to be used by a parent or guardian to keep a record of a child's work.
- The App handles a child's name, birthday and photo, but does not collect them and never sends them off the device.
- This information is entered only by the parent or guardian.
- When sharing the image of a work with family, please check the recipient and the audience yourself.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may change this Privacy Policy when necessary. Changes will be announced in the App or on the app store. Continuing to use the App after a change is taken as agreement to the updated policy.
10. Contact
